Who Is Josh?
Above all, I am a keen gamer. I started playing video games when I was a little kid. Growing up with three older brothers, I discovered the magic of gaming at an early age. I used to play all kinds of games and compete with my brothers.
At first, we didn’t have a computer, so we played using the big TV in our living room. We also had console games of the hand-held kind. Later, our parents bought us our first desktop computer. Oh god, I still remember the joy!
As you can imagine, however, four boys sharing a single computer caused a lot of discord in the household. Our constant fights used to drive our parents mad all the time. Once, my father even came to the point where he was about to throw the computer out of the front yard porch.
How I Got My First Very Own Computer
So, you see, the situation with the computer got worse. My brothers and I decided we needed to do something if we wanted to continue playing PC games. So, we got to work, literally. We all found our first jobs. I started working at a car wash, where, I must say, I earned good money. So, before long, I was able to buy my first very own computer.
How I Turned My Hobby into My Profession
As you might imagine, washing cars was something I did so I could afford a computer, but I was in no way keen on making it my career. So, as soon as I got into my last year in high school, I started looking for other options.
What could be better, I thought, than making my hobby of playing video games a lifetime occupation? The first thing I did was to prepare a CV and send it out to the companies that had produced all of my favorite PC games. Needless to say, that approach did not work. I was, after all, just a high school student who had only washed cars before.
I had to devise another plan. At that time, YouTube was becoming increasingly popular. I started digging and found out that a lot of people were already making good money by creating their own content.
That is how I decided to experiment and made a few YouTube videos reviewing the latest PC games that had impressed me. To be honest, I did not expect much. However, I got an important lesson. I learned that when you do something with genuine passion and a desire to be helpful to others, your effort indeed pays off.
My YouTube videos made total hits. I got a lot of viewers, and my channel quickly grew. I also made good money. Little did I know that the best was yet to come.
A year or so after I started my YouTube channel, I began receiving job offers from the same PC games companies that had previously rejected my applications because I lacked experience. I jumped at the chance, and this is how I landed my first job in the PC gaming industry. From there on, my career took off.
How I Started This Blog
Once I got a serious job in the PC gaming world, I simply ran out of time to produce YouTube videos. However, I still wanted to create content and be helpful to PC game enthusiasts. This is how this blog was born. You can learn all about my content in the “Welcome” section.
